Current works include explorations in clay, hand built vessels and Raku firing processes.
Janine Rook trained at Central St Martins and the Slade School of Fine Art in London.
Her works employ aleatoric processes across a range of media including ceramics, photography, print, drawing and text. Material alchemy, enquiries into the unexpected and the realm of the subconscious are themes that inform and link her creative practice.
She has exhibited work through major UK institutions including the Jerwood Space, Chisenhale Gallery, Artangel, Kettle’s Yard and the London Film Makers Co-op. Her recent 2022 solo exhibition at the Garrison Gallery, Made In Dreams, transformed the gallery space through painted motifs, prints, animation and sound generated from text, alongside digital imaging technology.
