About this event
Maggie’s paintings are an outpouring of her love of colour, line and composition and how they all collide and interact together to convey a feeling of vastness and expanse. She expresses her experience of living in the wild and beautiful surroundings of West Penwith through the abstraction of the landscape and it’s many forms.
However, her work is not a visual representation of any one scene or landscape. The memories she holds of the colours, lines and forms are a catalyst for her to manipulate and play with; to create a feeling of unbounded energy and atmosphere.
Maggie has been a tutor of painting for many years in East Sussex and until recently working on short courses at the prestigious West Dean College for Conservation near Chichester.
Her studio is set in three acres of land, which together with her partner she is transforming from farmland into beautiful meadows with ponds, woodland, a vegetable and ornamental garden.
You are invited to come along and explore her work on canvas, paper and wood panel, as well as the studio in its beautiful surroundings. She looks forward to talking with you about her work and her process.
