About this event
The Sea, Salts and Sail Festival is a biennial Maritime Festival held in the Cornish village of Mousehole. Founded in 1996 to preserve the identity of the village as a working fishing village and celebrate its maritime past. The historic harbour is the main focus with: visits from traditional craft; a full programme of rowing and sailing races, a great chance to see traditional fishing vessels unfurl their colourful sails and provide an insight into what the bay looked like centuries ago.
There are shoreside activities for all ages, lots of fun and games; live music from the Mousehole Male Voice Choir and visiting bands ; traditional craft and fish cookery demonstrations; open artists’ studios; an exhibition from Mousehole’s historic archive and of course plenty of local fare to eat and drink.
The festival lasts over a three-day weekend from the 3rd – 5th July with a variety of different events, performances and amusements providing a great day out for all the family. The Sea, Salts and Sail Festival is a partnership project with Feast and Cornwall Community Foundation.
