Members of CAST’s learning team will be in the black box space, with ready-made puppets and props on hand for children to invent their own imaginative shadow play.

In March we transformed our black box screening space into a space for schools to visit and learn about light and shadow, the light of the sun and the changing seasons, with a shadow puppet show exploring the transformation of the natural world with the arrival of spring.
On Saturday 15 April, Lucy Grant will run a Shadow Puppets Workshop in the learning studio, showing children how to make their own articulated puppets. The black box theatre space will also be open, for children to animate their puppets and experiment with shadow play with family and friends.
