About this event
Squeaky Binders is a creative design partnership and working studio run by artists and photographers Lynn and Graham.
We make handbound and illustrated hard-case notebooks, vegan cork wrapped long-stitched journals, eco-friendly ‘Drawer Bottom’ books, Japanese (with a difference) stab-binding photo albums, Coptic stitched or wire bound lay-flat artists’ sketchbooks and if you want something extra special and uniquely personalised, perhaps for a wedding or other special occasion, we’ll be delighted to do that too – just for you!
We also make prints for sale in a wide range of media and processes from the traditional silver halide darkroom to the modern digital archival giclée prints via camera-less photograms and wet process cyanotypes; and from Relief woodcuts, linocuts and collagraphs to Intaglio dry point and photopolymer etchings via Botanical Illustration, photography, digital imaging and mixed media artwork!
Lynn takes her inspiration from the natural world and her work often features carefully observed and executed botanical studies alongside more interpretive explorations of the Cornish landscape.
Graham’s background as an Engineer in the Cornish mining industry shows through in his choice of subjects and the insightful precision of his photography. The sea and the coast inspire him to explore themes involving margins and the transitional.
A visit to our studio provides an opportunity to experience the worlds of bookbinding and printmaking, watch demonstrations, see displays of work and tools, then have a go at making your own simple accordion book.
We have an affordable range of handmade journals, prints and gifts for sale on the day and we’d be pleased to chat with you about that special personalised or customised book project you would like made especially for you – to be posted on.
Find us at St Ingunger Country Offices near Lanhydrock House (NT) in our spacious studio located in a converted barn with exposed rafters and a warm, friendly welcome!
