Come and enjoy a one day course with me. You will learn the key skills to make yourself a stained glass panel to take home that day.
Courses are held at my Stained Glass Art workshop on the side of Chapel Carn Brae hill, just off the A30 near Sennen in the far west of Cornwall. I can accommodate two people in my workshop, so come with a friend or meet someone new!
The objective of the course is to teach you the basic skills for you to be able to make a leaded panel that you can take away with you at the end of the course. I will provide a simple but challenging design (as seen above) for you to work at throughout the day. The day proceeds at your pace so you can fully appreciate and enjoy it.
We will go through basic safety and ways of working in the workshop; handling and cutting glass safely; the design “cartoon” and how to assemble the panel; handing and cutting the lead; soldering; cementing and finishing off the panel.
I want you to get in as much practice as possible in the time available. To do this, I will introduce the various stages and techniques, show you how to do them, get you to practice them and then apply them to your own piece.
The day will run from 09:30 – 16:30 with lunch around 12:30 and breaks for tea/coffee. The price includes all materials and use of tools. Contact me, [email protected] or call 07905 094774 to book your preferred session. At the end of the day as well as taking away your finished panel, I will give you details of what you will need to start your first project and the best places to order them online.
The workshop is very easy to find with plenty of parking. It is set in open countryside on the side of Chapel Carn Brea Hill, with views up the hill and down to the sea.
