Many years ago, Stamp and Go were a sea shanty group, and performed in all sorts of places, including The Orkney Folk Festival and The Lorient Celtic Festival.
Then they wrote a song about a ship, wrecked under the cliffs of Perranporth, their home. That opened the floodgates to a whole catalogue of songs about Cornwall:-
There are songs about mining, engineering, fishing, smuggling, and even one making gentle fun of the summer visitors. Songs about Cornish heroes, china clay: – and another famous shipwreck.
Most of them are included on their C.D.s- three of them so far and one that isn’t; about Richard Trevithick, is being produced as a video hopefully to be released soon!
