About this event
This will be my first time exhibiting at Cornwall Open Studios and I look forward to welcoming you to my shed perched high up overlooking Looe bay!
My hubby and I moved to Cornwall in 2022, from London, where I had originally worked as a hotel interior designer for several years. I then went on to study a PostGrad in glass at Central St Martins, following which I had a studio for 14 years at Cockpit Arts in Deptford. Whilst there, I created many glass commissions for residential and also the public healthcare sector. I regularly took part in artist’s open house weekends in my local area which I loved, especially meeting people and chatting about my work! More recently I returned to my love of painting during lockdown, alongside running art classes for children. I love to mix up my working life with a variety of creative roles to keep me on my toes and the energy flowing!
I will be showing my fused glass designs alongside paintings and sketches. My work is always inspired by colour, design and of course the beautiful scenery of Cornwall will be seeping into my work so new influences will start to emerge! I love to create expressive paintings with texture and mark making using acrylic, watercolour, pastels and other mediums.
Artwork I will be showing, will include small glass items to buy, alongside sketches and paintings. I can also work to commission for special gifts and would love to chat about any ideas you have!
I can’t promise ‘homemade’ cakes, but I will provide drinks for those who make it up the hill or across the Wooldown to visit me!
Accessibility
Details
Eastcliff is a narrow and steep hill, with limited parking at top. If you walk up, it is steep, once at the top, look for the wall with benches, and then turn left alongside wall to walk up towards a pink house, go up around the steps to the side. You will see a wall with Bryn-y-Mor and arrow sign, follow up this slope, to yellow house, up steps around the side and behind.. then a further short steep slope up to my house. Alternative is to park on Bayview Rd, (off the Barbican) and walk over the level Wooldown, towards the beacon/cannons. Look for wooden post just down the slope, and I will have bunting up there to direct you down the slope to rear steps to our house!
Directions
From A38 or A390, then local roads to East Looe. No nearby road access. Road up Eastcliff from Fore St, is steep/narrow and pathway up to house is steep with steps. Alternative is park on Bayview Rd, off Barbican, level walk over Wooldown. Look for bunting to then direct you! Any Q's just call
