About this event
Predominately a painter and printmaker, responding to the natural world especially birds and wildlife. I have an interest in the relationship between humans and animals and the importance they play in our daily lives, our symbiotic relationship and the resulting poetry, storytelling, myth and folktales dating back to the beginning of human existence.
Some of my most recent work has been inspired by a direct experience of watching wildlife and walking. A glimpsed flock of lapwings whilst passing an estuary, standing beneath a cloud of 200,000 starlings or the distant call of Curlews across a glistening muddy river inlet. I often collect natural objects along my walks and make drawings, prints or casts from them.
Sketchbooks will be available to view together with paintings, drawings, printmaking, bookmaking, greetings cards, casting, a few sculptural items and a little bit of pottery.
I will be running workshops during Open Studios, these will be bookable via my website.
