Ready to explore the art of throwing with an experienced potter and teacher? Join Andy Mason at Create CIC for a workshop that will take you on a journey of discovery and joy with clay. With practical demonstrations and tutored sessions, you’ll learn core skills and techniques as well as advanced and alternative methods. Proper posture, positioning, tools, and more will be covered to ensure you leave with a solid foundation in the art of throwing.
Andy Mason has honed his throwing skills throughout more than 30 years as a potter, teacher and workshop leader, developing technical knowledge, design and aesthetic considerations.
From early days using repetition methods to create commissioned work for commercial outlets, including the National Trust, through to his studio work, using traditional skills alongside individual approaches such as altered thrown forms.
He’s a member of the Craft Potters Association and sells his tableware through Contemporary Ceramics, London, and has pots in permanent museum collections in the UK and beyond.
