About this event
The Studio, Little Trenarrett is situated in an ancient hamlet of the edge of Bodmin Moor. It is a peaceful and inspiring location to work in, surrounded by unspoilt countryside. There are old pastures, undisturbed habitats and an orchard which provides an endless supply of beautiful native plants and flowers to paint.
Visitors are welcome to wander around to see for themselves. Weather permitting, tea and cake will be available in the garden.
My work is mostly of botanical subjects, either growing wild in our fields or plants I have grown myself. I am a member of the Society of Botanical Artists having gained a Diploma with credit. Usually I work in watercolour but I also enjoy using pen and ink or pencil.
I have enjoyed drawing and painting at school and apart from constant doodling, painting stayed on the back burner while children and life consumed my time. It has only in the past decade or so I have gradually become more involved with painting. Consequently I have not only become more proficient but also enjoy it immensely.
I belong to a local art club and am also a member of the Eden Project Florigeum Society.
There are original paintings, prints, cards and printed gifts available to purchase or order.
I believe anyone can draw and am happy to give them guidance to get started. Paper and pencils will be available for anyone wishing to have a go.
