About this event
Following a string of sold-out shows, BBC Radio 1 airplay, major festival appearances and UK tours (pre-COVID of course!) – the creme of Cornwall’s college-bred Indie-Punk cohort rolls through the doors of Old Bakery Studios.
Three generations of Truro College alumni take to the OBS stage, headlined by the now London-based The Velvet Hands. Support comes from Truro’s favourites The Rezner and scene newcomers FacePaint as part of the return of Old Bakery’s full capacity live shows!
The Velvet Hands
The Huw Stephens-backed four-piece are currently riding the hype of their most recent single ‘Star’ and will make the journey down for this one-off very special performance, before jumping back into the studio to record a selection of hit-worthy singalong indie bangers.
“Every track they’ve released has been a hit as far as I’m concerned” – John Kennedy, Radio X.
The Rezner
The Rezner are an alternative/indie-rock 4-piece from the sunny southwest. Since forming in 2016, The Rezner has already been picked up by the public for their unique live performances full of ‘live on-stage energy’ that captivates the audience from the moment the music starts. Their sound has been described as a blend between 90’s ‘Madchester’ indie and the like’s of the Foo Fighter’s full-frontal, in your face Rock.
“Audacious teen band from Cornwall next ‘The Rezner’ set to be the next Oasis” – Cornwall Live
Facepaint
Storming out of Truro College in summer 2020, FacePaint is the newest bunch of slacker punks to emerge from the ever-exciting college music scene in Cornwall. Already boasting a whopping 50k+ streams on Spotify and a penchant for anarchic live shows.
“FacePaint is a band with an artistic vision and this is evident with their most recent release. It can be argued they are one of Cornwall’s most exciting bands around at the moment.” – Clunkmagazine
