Russell Pascoe: Secular Requiem, plus works by Brahms & Mendelssohn.

Join us for Cornish composer Russell Pascoe’s “A Secular Requiem”, a profoundly moving and ultimately uplifting work, with renowned soloists mezzo-soprano Catherine Wyn-Rogers and baritone Julien van Mellaerts. This piece received great acclaim and a standing ovation at its world premiere in Truro Cathedral in 2013, and we are delighted to offer another performance to Cornwall’s concert goers.

Catherine will also sing Brahms’ wonderful “Alto Rhapsody”. The programme includes Mendelssohn’s “Overture to St Paul”, and soprano Katherine Gregory will join us for ‘Mendelssohn “Hear my Prayer” and excerpts from Brahms’ Requiem. Three Spires Singers and Orchestra will be joined by Truro Cathedral Choir, conductor Christopher Gray.
