About this event
Tin Coast Stamps, is a dance performance exploring the work of women in the mining landscape of the Tin Coast presented by rhythmic dance partnership Skuffuffle. Using inspiration from historical research and the remnants of the dressing floors of this once busy landscape, two dancers reinterpret this heritage using the rhythms of their bodies.
This short dance piece questions the romanticised notion of Cornish Bal Maidens, and explores the tough and vital women of this globally important industry.
Rhythmic dance duo Skuffuffle, seek to remind us of the exhausting and noisy work these women would have done in the height of the tin trade on this coast; a cultural landscape of World Heritage site status.
When:
The work will be presented to free audiences on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th June. Exact timings and ticket numbers to be confirmed in May 2021.
Please like and follow Skuffuffle’s facebook and instagram pages for updates and their eventbrite event for ticket release.
Skuffuffle will be developing the work on the cliffs at at Botallack over the coming months. If you see them dancing make sure you go and say hello!
Part of the Tin Coast Events Programme. Commissioned by the Tin Coast Partnership and Cornwall 365.
