Unexpected Song is the new solo show from singer-songwriter-pianist Helen Porter.

Written and composed mostly during the current pandemic, it celebrates both the small, seemingly insignificant, details of daily life, as well as exploring some of the more troubling questions in the world today. Is society on the edge of possibility, or the brink of change? Are we sealed to our fate or do we have the power to change it for good? And alongside all the current doom and gloom, we can still fall in love, forget where our keys are and take comfort in small pleasures.

Drawing on jazz, theatre and classical music, Helen is a deeply engaging and accomplished singer and pianist, thrilling audiences with her finely tuned vocals, thoughtful lyrics and exciting piano playing.
