Featuring a 138-seat auditorium and a diverse programme of events through the year, Lane Theatre is owned by Newquay Dramatic Society and has undergone a range of careful refurbishments.
Boasting a large free car park and a fully licensed on-site bar, Lane Theatre is known as Newquay’s only live theatre with a programme that features an impressive lineup of intimate musical performances, comedy shows and theatrical productions, starring some best-loved performers. Newquay Dramatic Society has performed adaptations of many shows at this community venue over the years, including psychological thriller ‘Crime on Goat Island’, and local production company Cube Theatre has brought its popular show ‘Carmen and Mimi’ to this stage.
In addition to being a popular space for theatrical productions, comedians and musicians have also performed on this stage, covering a wide variety of styles and genres. Debman Duo, a popular folk act, headlined a themed folk and blues evening which was held at the theatre back in 2014, and the 2016 programme welcomed the Newquay Male Voice Choir who presented an evening of musical entertainment with the assistance of some special guests, including soprano soloist, Tamsin Brooks.
Situated in the heart of Lane, a small hamlet located just a few short miles from the vibrant and buzzing town of Newquay, Lane Theatre is a unique venue that’s treasured by the local community, and the vast array of talented artists who perform on its stage.
