NEWLYN ART GALLERY
Forced Collaboration is going for a walk! Join Georgia Gendall and her ongoing project Forced Collaboration on a circular walk from Newlyn Art Gallery. The route includes three collaboration points at three distinctly different locations along the way, where participants will create artwork together and in response to a set of instructions.
Participants will be encouraged to use found and organic materials to create their artworks. However, very basic materials will be provided. Between each collaboration point will be a short walk where participants can engage in conversation around the tasks. The aim of the walk is to encourage an approach of spontaneity and impulsivity towards the making of art. Walking away from something you have made takes the pressure off the artist and the artwork, giving participants the space to experiment.
This workshop is suitable for all skill levels and offers valuable experience for those interested in experimentation and collaboration.
All materials will be provided. Please also bring a water bottle and any snacks you might like – making art is thirsty work!
£25 per person, booking essential as places are limited.
Please note: This event takes place outside and will go ahead whatever the weather, so please wear suitable footwear and clothing appropriate to the weather on the day.
