About this event
Join Falmouth-based designer Emily Sorrell and software engineer Eddie Reeder to test the prototype of ‘The Sonosynthesiser’, which harmonises far-off and forgotten soundscapes, creating a space where past and present can sync.
Using a hand-held device, you will be able to locate and amplify fragments of sound from as far back as 1907. From a marriage in Mumbai, to bird calls in the blue mountains, explore echoes of worlds which may no longer even exist.
To try the Sonosynthesiser device, please book on to one of the half-hour slots, and arrive five minutes before your allotted time. There will be a very limited number of walk-in tickets, therefore booking in advance is advisable as a high turnout is anticipated.
This work is delivered as part of New Creatives, a talent development scheme supported by Arts Council England and BBC Arts, delivered in the South West by Calling The Shots. Sound Effects BBC Copyright.
