Here are some current film competitions you can apply for in Cornwall.

Hypatia Trust (closing date 15th April)

The Hypatia Trust is commissioning 8 new short films to celebrate contemporary women in Cornwall’s musical life. They’re looking for ideas that tell diverse stories of modern women involved in any genre of music in Cornwall, from performers and composers to teachers, instrument makers, music therapists or simply women for whom music has played a significant role in their daily life. £1000 will be awarded to produce each successful commission, and they are welcoming applications for non-fiction ideas between 5-7 minutes in length.

Carnon Downs Drama Group One Act Play Competition is open for entries until 5pm on 5th June. Plays should be 40-50 minutes long and never previously performed. The winning play will be performed in Truro in October.

Cornwall Film Festival
The 19th edition of the Cornwall Film Festival is upon us and the time has come to submit your short films & music video to the competition. This year, they will be showcasing filmmaking talent, bringing worthy filmmakers to regional and national attention. As always Cornwall Film Festival seeks to represent the most innovative and adventurous developments in filmmaking. It is especially interested in filmmakers whose short films manifest stylistic boldness, strength of form, and the ambition to use the medium in a way that resists cliché.
