About this event
The Grand Old Oak has been standing tall and strong at the edge Trelowen Wood since anyone could remember, but the old tree has a hidden secret which only Mrs Miller knows. Once the magical power of the oak is revealed, the village and the lives of the villagers could be changed forever and beyond all recognition. Now they must decide how to deal with the secrets of the grand old oak.
This light-hearted family storytelling show has been created by Blystra Arts for Cornwall Space (an Action for Children project). The piece, which has come about as a response to the pandemic and has been re-written from a previous storytelling show, has been reimagined with the purpose of spreading a bit of fun and laughter across Cornwall at the end of a long and uncertain year.
The Grand Old Oak is an online show commissioned and funded by Action for Children and part funded by Feast Cornwall and Cornwall Community Foundation. The show will be performed online and live for Cornwall Space clients on the 12th and 13th of December 2020, with a filmed version of the piece being released on YouTube for all to enjoy from the 18th of December 2020 onwards.
