About this event
During the summer months, we will be transforming our woodland corner into an enchanted colourful smaller version of the famous ‘100 Acre Woods’. Behind which door are hiding Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Rabbit and Owl? See what it’s like to be in Eeyore’s house. Throw some sticks off ‘Poohstick’s Bridge’. Find the party teddies hiding around the site….or just sit and complete a craft activity.
On 21st August, we’ll be having a birthday party to celebrate 101 years of Winnie-the-Pooh with real cake and homemade lemonade.

People with mobility problems can either be dropped off at the door then there are 2 steps with a rail to get inside the building or alternatively there is a gentle slope. There is another smaller slope between the shop and the museum itself. A wheelchair and a walking stick is available if required. There are lots of seats inside the building for you to use and everybody is encouraged to spend as much time inside as they need. There are also two toilets on the ground level - one is equipped to help with disabilities and also has a baby changing table for you to use, if required. We have our own kitchen if needed although we recommend going across the stony driveway to 'The Croust Hut' cafe for yummy cakes and proper hot and cold drinks! The teddy bears are displayed in several 'scenes' which are lit individually. However, we can turn on the overhead lights if you need them. Some information, that's not on the boards, is printed in 'large print'. An Alexa plays bird songs continuously for relaxing therapeutic benefits. However if you have trouble hearing, we can turn this off. There is a settee in the crafty gift shop area for quiet reading and resting if required. The building is an old stone space so cool when the sun outside is hot. We have a 'therapy' shed which you can also use if the museum is busy and you need some space.
