About this event
Cornish Spoons wooden spoons and cooking implements are available in many different styles and sizes ranging from small beverage spoons, eating spoons and love spoons, through to scoops for the kitchen and large serving spoons for the table.
Unlike mass produced products, each and every spoon or utensil has been individually crafted in Cornwall by hand from responsibly resourced timber (and locally-sourced reclaimed wood wherever possible) using traditional tools and incorporating sea glass, fossils and semi-precious stones.
Milk Paint is used on painted handles. The paint is made from all natural earth materials using an ancient formula containing ingredients that pre-date the use of petrochemicals. A similar paint was used to decorate objects discovered in the tombs of the Pharaohs. It is environmentally safe, non-toxic and entirely solvent free.
Cornish spoons and scoops are finished with a food safe oil based on natural plant oils and waxes (sunflower oil, soya oil, thistle oil and linseed oil) giving a non-toxic finish that is ideal for surfaces that are expected to come into contact with food. It is 100% food-safe.
In Trew you will also find the Open Studios of Anthea Bowen Ceramics, Richard Horner Artist and David CP Harrison Sculptures.
