Discover some remarkable places you may never have heard of in this pop-up exhibition!

Come and see our April pop-up!

Combining photography and poetry, this new show will take you on an A-Z journey in photography and poetry through 26 Cornish places and their richly resonant names. Some of the contributors used our collections for their research and the book will be added to the Kresen Kernow library.

You’ll discover some remarkable places you may have never heard of and hidden aspects of some you thought you knew.

Angarrack, Halliggye Fogou, Feock, Nancekuke, Zennor… How did these places get their names and what can these tell us about Cornwall’s language, culture and history?

Accessibility

Details

Kresen Kernow is fully wheelchair and pushchair accessible, with lifts to all levels and automatic main entrance doors. Accessible toilets are available on both floors, with a fully-equipped Changing Places toilet also available on the ground floor. Separate baby changing facilities are also available on the ground floor. If you are arriving by vehicle, there are six accessible parking spaces at the Tesco side of the building and a level entrance into the building. If you are arriving on foot or wheels, from Redruth town centre, the closest entrance is at the end of the public path which runs through the old brewery site, from Chapel Street to Kresen Kernow.
