About this event
I am trained as a textile designer/screen printer and have a love of Japanese art.
Most of my textiles designs derive from my plant and flower paintings, some of which are purely botanical and others mimic the style of Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock prints. Both styles are the basis for my designs which are then printed onto a range of silk scarves.
For the East Cornwall Society of Art I work on traditional Cornish land and seascapes. These are usually in acrylic paint. I also exhibit a collection of Gyotaku. This is a Japanese technique of printing using real fish which I hope to demonstrate on one of the event days.
