About this event
Daisy Rickman celebrates the release of her Debut Album ‘Donsya a’n Loryow’ in her hometown’s Acorn Theatre on the 17th of September. Accompanied by fellow Artists and Musicians she will perform the 8 pieces featured on the album, some of which were written and will be performed in Cornish. Here are some words from Daisy about the Album and what led to its creation:
”‘Donsya a’n Loryow’ translates in Cornish to ‘Dance of the Moons’. Some of the songs were written in the language of my homeland and are in many ways a homage to the magic of that land. Whilst recording at home in Mousehole, I started to notice the times I felt most inspired to make music would fall on certain cycles of the moon. It was these lunar dances that inspired the Title and Album Artwork which is an oil painting I made of a hand-headed moon maiden.
It is a collection of songs created between the springtime of 2020-2021 at Home in Cornwall and Dorset. All the music was written, performed, recorded, mixed & produced by me, and then mastered by Ryan Van Kriedt. It is a piece of work I have poured much of my heart, time, and soul into the past two years, so I am very excited to finally be able to share it with the world!”
