About this event
Opportunity to develop a first-hand understanding of the principles and ethics of permaculture, and the ‘people care’ aspect of permaculture design, looking at collaborative techniques used to set up family or community projects. Practical skills: soil restoration, caring for crops, natural fertilizers, mulching, ways to increase local biodiversity.
Intended for anyone over 19 wanting to get their hands in the soil, to focus the mind, learn some new growing skills and to meet like-minded people with support from an experienced Tutor. Being out in nature, with a supportive team of people is a great way to improve health and well-being.
We are hosting a series of these short, one and two day courses in partnership with the WEA on selected Tuesdays and Thursdays at Bosavern Community Farm near St. Just throughout the Spring and Summer of 2024. You can enroll on one-off courses, or you can sign up to all our WEA courses for a regular commitment.
Course fees do not apply if you are in receipt of income related benefits (UC, ESA or JSA) or earning under £21, 255.00 per year. For a free place you will be asked to show the WEA proof of benefits or to sign a simple self declaration form if you are on a low income. No previous experience or qualifications are needed.
