Jennie’s work is a reflection of the passion she has for the natural world her Sculpture capture the essence of the creatures she creates.
Her Sgraffito decorated earthenware is full of life and vitality, informed by the illustrated nature journals she keeps. Nature journaling has been part of Jennie’s practice for over 30 years, each day she makes notes and drawings about the wildlife she encounters. These have built to a collection of over 40 nature journals mostly based around her home but also other travels, climbing to high altitude, sea kayaking all over the British Isles and in the Gulf of Mexico to see the migrating whales.
She has taught nature journaling all over the world and continues to teach this one day a month at her studio on Bodmin Moor. During Open Studios you will be able to see some of Jennie’s processes, see a collection of the original nature journals and around her making, kiln and prep rooms and have the techniques explained to you. Jennie will remaking through out the week and you will be able to she her at work.
So do come along for a chat and a cup of tea. There will also be refreshments, tea, coffee and cake.
