About this event
My artwork is inspired by my local surroundings of the Helford River. On walks near my home I draw in sketchbooks and take photographs of the land and seascape and, back in my studio I use different mediums, eg, acrylic or watercolour etc, to produce my paintings. I’m interested in the social history of the area and recently I began using old photos which depict the lives of people who lived and worked here, as a starting point for drawings and paintings.
I will be joined, in my garden studio, by textile artist, Fiona Pullen. We are both members of the Helford Artists Collective, who are all participating in Open Studios this year. Fiona and I are exhibiting in Open Studios for the first time this year and we look forward to seeing you and discussing our work. You will be made most welcome.
