About this event
Remi Harris is one of the UK’s most exciting, technically gifted and versatile guitarists. From the age of seven he has dedicated himself to a life of guitar playing that has taken him from busking on the streets of his local towns in Herefordshire to performing at many prestigious venues and events around the world, including: sell out shows at the Brecon and Cheltenham Jazz Festivals, the Montreal Jazz Festival, Buckingham Palace, BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall with Jamie Cullum, appearing on BBC 4 television, and live performances and airplays on BBC Radio 2, 3 and 6 Music.
Joined on stage by long-time collaborator Tom Moore on double bass and rhythm guitarist Chris Nesbitt, the trio present an enthralling evening of music ranging from acoustic Gypsy Jazz of the 30s/40s to acoustic and electric Blues of the 60s/70s. Combining musical virtuosity with passion and flair, they deliver an exhilarating show drawing inspiration from guitar luminaries like Django Reinhardt, Wes Montgomery, and blues-rock legends Peter Green and Jimi Hendrix.
The trio features Remi, flitting effortlessly between acoustic and electric guitars, playing an eclectic mix of jazz and blues standards, new arrangements of his favourite tunes, and original compositions. There’s an ease and warmth to Remi’s stage presence that will have you captivated by his talents and love of the guitar.
