Two artist friends, Sally Cole and Sarah Trewhella sharing Mudgeon Vean Studio.
Sally, Printmaker & Painter:
My love of printmaking dates from my schooldays in South London, where I was fortunate enough to have access to a beautiful old Albion Printing Press, from then on I was hooked. I work mainly in Relief Printmaking ,employing the traditional methods of Wood Engravings (using end grain boxwood blocks) and Lino Cuts, enjoying the boundaries and restraints therein. I also like the cross over to a kind of midpoint between my prints and paintings when making Mono Prints, which I find exciting and inspirational. I am now the proud owner of my own Albion press.
The subjects I choose for my paintings vary but are largely landscape based, being loosely representational and emerging out of some mood, thought, angle of light, shape or colour which has caught my eye. I also enjoy trying to unravel and getting lost in the intricacies and tangles of found objects. I mostly work in Oils, Watercolour and Mixed Media.
Sarah produces original framed and unframed paintings and cards, the work derives from her interest in life and death cycles, the seasons and natural plant and animal forms. The beautiful environments of The Lizard and The Helford River areas inspire her work.

Details
Mudgeon Vean Studio is situated down a farm lane. As you enter the concreted farm yard the Studio is immediately to your right. There is parking for several cars outside the Studio. The Studio entrance is level with the yard with a slight slope to the door. The door is 82.5cms wide. The toilet facilities have a small step near the door area, level into the porch, WC very small area and not suitable for wheelchair users, but a wheelchair could always be left outside the door.
Directions
From Helston, A3083 past Culdrose Naval Air Station. Turn left at the roundabout, B3293 towards St. Keverne. Take second left at next roundabout through Mawgan village, take the narrow road past Tremayne Quay and then sharp left onto Mudgeon Vean Lane.
