About this event
My work is inspired by the simple joys in life and living here in Cornwall. Themes are still life, seasonal fruit and flowers, beaches and gardens in Cornwall. I work from life initially making sketches of a scene or group of objects and paintings are worked up in either of my studios. I have a tiny studio at home and a larger space just off Chapel St above Daisy Laing Gallery.
I’m passionate about colour and the power it has to evoke positive feelings and although my work is generally vibrant I do also use a more muted palette to create quieter scenes or still lifes.
I’ll have a browser full of handmade monoprints, monotypes and drypoint etchings. All printed on a big old press at Penzance School of Art.
For the Open Studios my work will be on display in my house, a very relaxed setting. Everyone is welcome!
