A workshop space to come and do repairs

We are a monthly workshop space in the centre of the town of St Just, West Cornwall. We offer repairs on broken goods that would otherwise end up in landfill. We encourage maintenance, re-use and re-purposing, while also hoping to educate on consumerism. As we see it, we all have to change our attitude to producing, using and disposing of ‘stuff’. We want our cafe to be accessible for all, so any repairs are done for free with a welcome but not compulsory donation towards the renting of the space. We are a not for profit organisation and will boost ecological and ethical thinking within our community. Cornwall Council have declared a Climate Emergency which is an important step towards changing attitudes, however we all have to play our part in this overwhelming awakening to the issues we are facing environmentally. We feel community Repair Cafes are so important generally in this shift and that a resource such as this is available to the people of St Just.
