About this event
Anansi & the Lost Sun is a Puppet Show celebrating African Caribbean culture for children & their families in community centres, libraries and museums. Our funny, inspiring & entertaining West African Tale mixes traditional live West African Music & puppetry (captioned).
The Anansi Stories are part of our multicultural British heritage. They have a universal appeal to all people. These humorous, lively and “community” led stories travelled with enslaved African people to the Caribbean. The stories then came to the UK when the UK government asked the Windrush Generation to come here to help with the labour shortage after WWII.
And the show is just the start!
As well as nourishing children’s well-being through wonder, laughter and great music, the show has rich potential to inspire children’s creative projects. We offer workshops in Puppet making all our puppets are made from everyday use or waste materials.
