About this event

Vanessa is an experienced weaver, She works with willow as well as a variety of bark and fibres foraged from her garden.

This is an opportunity to come along and see a local weaver working. My current work will be on display for sale and I will be available for you to pick my brains. I am more than happy to chat about the inspiration behind my creations, how i got into weaving and what it means to me. As well as chatting about ideas for possible commissions and tuition.

You will be invited to see, feel and smell the variety of materials I use and how they are prepared.

There are no silly questions, we all have to start somewhere. I never stop learning about the natural materials that are available to weave with, each one just inspires me to think of more designs.

By taking part in Open Studios I hope to inspire others to weave with natural materials and keep this craft alive and hopefully developing it for the future.
