About this event
This is the 48th Cornwall Folk Festival with over 50 bands, acts, shanty singers, choirs, dance troupes. From traditional to alt-folk, from American to Rock there are three parts to the Festival. The FAR (Folk Acoustic Root) stage has over 25 performers from Cornwall and the South-West, making it the place to hang out during the day for non-stop music into the evening – 9pm Sat and Sun, and 8-ish on Monday, with a closing ceilidh dance. Daily ticket £3, £5 for families, and you get to define your family. Tickets can be bought online or on the day.
Included in the FAR Stage is the ‘Glassonbury’ event that celebrates the music and contribution to our culture of Cornish songwriting hero Harry Glasson in this his 70th year. Harry will be our guest of honour throughout the weekend, and we have peppered the festival with a Glasson magic line-up: Will Keating, Coastal Belles, Steve Winchester will be singing many of Harry’s songs. ‘Harry in Conversation” with Geoff Lakeman and Will Keating will be a highlight of the show.
To round up the Fest we have the “Shanty Street”, our scratch name for a project to fill Molesworth St and Foundry Court in the middle of Wadebridge with music and dance throughout Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Many shanty groups, choirs and other acts will include Harry Glasson’s music in their sets. The Saltbox will host many singers and bands throughout the weekend too. Come and join us in the fun.
