A major exhibition of original paintings by Teeside based John Hatfield whose studies of human anatomy have contributed to inspiring his contemporary approach to art. John is a self-taught painter who rejected a formal art education. He spent much of his working life in voluntary work, scattered around the countryside, and surfing. He has exhibited in the North East, Manchester, London’s Brick Lane and Ironbridge; had a residency at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival; was the illustrator for ‘The Acupuncturist’; and has illustrated an anatomical text book on traditional Chinese Massage.
The Exhibition will run from 6th to 25th July in the Max Lock Gallery at Liskeard Arts & Heritage Centre, Stuart House. Stuart House is a 16th century Town House with some permanent exhibitions relating to the history of the area and a gallery for temporary art, craft or heritage exhibitions. Entrance to Stuart House and the Exhibition is free.
