About this event
Originally commissioned by Newlyn Art Galllery & The Exchange to celebrate LGBTQIA+ History Month. Situated in the Studio Café at Newlyn Art Gallery, the form of the flag echoes the shape of the large picture window and the neon light fills the space with vibrant colour.
Peter Freeman is interested in the beauty and emotional quality of artificial light. His light sculptures and installations are poetic solutions using electric light and digital technologies to transform architectural spaces and create uplifting luminous forms that celebrate light and bring pleasure to the senses.
We’re delighted that our Rainbow Flag took on a new meaning during the pandemic, and will stay up for longer than planned.
