About this event
This is the second lecture in my series of 7 on Cornish Art 1940 to the Present Day. This lecture looks at the influence of abstract expressionism from America on artists who worked in Cornwall in the 1950s and how they used it to express their feelings and response to the Cornish landscape. We also look at how abstraction was also expressing for some artists their beliefs and spirituality. Artists include Peter Lanyon, Patrick Heron, Paul Feiler, Sir Terry Frost, Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Michael Finn, Tony O’Malley and, Brean O’Casey. Cost £10. Also available as a recording on You Tube.
