About this event
During Open Studios I’ll be based in a beautiful wild flower meadow near Lamorna for part of the week and visiting one or two coastal locations for inspiration and adventure. You can check my location by following my instagram account @louisebennettstudio or by dropping me an email or text. You can view a collection of paintings and pots and join me for a workshop if you would like to experience plein air painting from the comfort and convenience of the horsetrailer.
I work both from my home overlooking Newlyn Harbour and the mobile studio created from a vintage horse-trailer, which offers comfortable immersion in different landscapes. The tiny dwelling forms a hide from which to appreciate the changing landscape and seasons. I can enjoy the wonder of outside from the comfort and safety of inside; usually carrying about just the bare essentials: Paints, brushes, pots and pans.
During open studios, the trailer will be filled to the brim with paintings and pottery. I’ll be painting and drawing and enjoying tea and cake from the pots that I have been making in Newlyn which form part of my latest venture to create ensembles of pots and paintings. Do come and say hello and I’ll pop the kettle on!

From Penzance take the B3315 towards Lamorna. Turn right at Lamorna pottery onto Tregadgwith Road towards St Bunyan. After the egg stall on your right you’ll see a gate on the left next to the turning for Trewoofe Wartha. Or, on the road..check!
