About this event
Our open access studio will be showcasing the creative output from a summer of tile-making in our specially funded Tresorys Kernow season.
Three workshops hosted for local community groups, and one public workshop, have created a collection of tiles utilising materials foraged from our local beaches here in Newquay. Featuring prints, stencils and textures crafted from shells, seaweed and naturally occurring clays and minerals, these tiles represent the incredible geology and landscape of the north Cornish coast, forever embodied in ceramics. We’ll be exhibiting the tiles as part of the launch of our outdoor space at the studio, where we hope to eventually install them in the exterior wall for the community to appreciate and enjoy.
Come along to enjoy our sunny corner of Newquay, explore locally foraged art materials, and visit our open ceramics studio. Check website for further events, drop in workshops and activities which may be running concurrently with this event.
This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Community Renewal Fund in Cornwall.
