About this event
The Charles Causley Trust 2022 Festival of Arts and Literature will be taking place across 29-31 July! This year, the festival will be both in-person and digital, so even if you can’t make it down to Cornwall, you can join the fantastic lineup of events online.
The Causley Festival of Arts and Literature is an annual festival held by the Trust in Launceston, Cornwall, the hometown of Cornish poet Charles Causley. Held across a weekend, creatives will be leading a variety of events, including workshops and spoken word events, as part of the physical and digital programmes. The festival celebrates the artistic, literary and cultural richness of Launceston and the Southwest, in particular showcasing local creatives and their work.
On the ground in Launceston, the 3-day weekend of events will include: art exhibitions in Launceston, tours of Cyprus Well (Charles Causley’s final home), exclusive meet and greets with authors and artists, talks, screenings, a poetry tour, circus and musical performances, tours of Launceston Castle, amongst others.
For digital attendees, there will be zoom meet and greets with authors and creatives, screenings, digital workshops, talks, interviews, open-mic performances and more. On the 30th of July there will be a Community Day, held in conjunction with English Heritage, Launceston Town Council and the Chamber of Commerce, that will include: the Mayoral reopening of Launceston Castle, the unveiling of creative work by Vahni Capildeo, following their artist residency, theatrical and musical performances, the Burton Art Gallery’s Art Box and more.
Stay tuned for when tickets are made available but, in the meantime, save the dates 29-31 July! Be sure to follow @causleytrust to be notified when they release our latest updates.
