About this event
Come in and experience an individual working art studio and feel free to take time to study my art and what I do, how I paint; why do I for instance use Aluminium as my preferred surface? How do I prepare to paint? Learn the importance of sketching and then transposing those lines and thoughts into a painting.
I’m happy to answer questions and allow you time to browse my work which will be for sale along with some special Greeting Cards.
Come and see true Cornish Countryside at its best, edged with beauty and reflection as I overlook Stithians Lake. I’m spoilt by its rural beauty and find it inspirational. I like to think I paint with energy and vitality which is innovative and textured. I use loose marks and brush strokes which in turn adds value to the fascination I have with water versus land and sky. Colour, texture and mark making allow me to capture the ruggedness and sometimes the simplicity of the landscape where I am living. I sometimes authenticate my work by using found material (like bracken). I like texture, so my paint application can be thick and detailed. This makes my work energetic, evocative and expressive.
