About this event
An insight into how I make work, from sketches to small studies then on to larger finished pieces. Look though sketchbooks, works on paper where I practise fundamentals, through master studies and anatomy. I taught myself to paint digitally before moving to traditional mediums before moving exclusively to oils in 2019.
My Landscape subjects include clouds, inland and moorland scenes, Falmouth Docklands, Trees, Nocturnes. I like the quiet open areas, the main theme of my work.
I have many influences, but to name a few; the Russian masters, Andrew Wyeth, Frederick Cuming, Frances Hewlett, Denis Sarazhin. I work part time at Newlyn Art School, where I have been helped and encouraged enormously by the Tutors and staff, to whom I am incredibly grateful.
I have shown work at Bankside Gallery at the National Original Print exhibition in 2018; and two solo shows at Beside the Wave Gallery, Falmouth in 2022 and 2023.
