About this event
“A new way to experience flamenco”
Rebeca Ortega – dancer from Seville
Natalia Marín & África Granados- singers from Seville
Ramón Ruiz Flamenco – guitarist from Granada/London
From the deepest roots of flamenco, this theatrically spun dance show attributed to women is born from the tradition of flamenco culture; shaped by the luminosity of the alegrías, the depth of the Taranto, the rhythms of the tangos and bulerías and the Honduras of the soleá and the farruca.
On stage, the cantaoras intermingle their lyrics, representing the voices of the dancer’s conscience: one expressing victimization and melancholy and the other the power to overcome and courage.
In other words, this work shows a woman’s path, looking from the regret of the past, towards the uncertain and hopeful future.
In 2024, the company goes on tour through the Network of Theaters of the Community of Madrid, performing in Madrid (Pilar Miró Cultural Center), Colmenar del Arroyo and Manzanares El Real and touring in England.
About Rebeca Ortega – Flamenco dancer and director:
“She has it all: Beauty, a stylised and flexible body, elegance, finesse, charisma, a rhythmic sense that prints a way of dancing with its own identity. Rebeca Ortega’s dance defines her…” – Aquí Madrid.
Rebeca has performed and directed workshops throughout Europe and in China and Gabon. She has trained extensively in flamenco, classical Spanish dance, ballet, and contemporary dance.
