About this event
Join Maggie Cochran for a relaxing morning learning to capture the coast in watercolours.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Watercolours with their translucent properties are a wonderful medium for capturing the sea. You will learn techniques and do a number of small studies using watercolours to paint a coastal scene. The tutor will introduce you to her favourite colours and ways of working.
No experience necessary as Maggie will talk through the basics for those new to watercolours.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
The cost of the workshop covers all the materials required as well as tea, coffee, soft drinks etc.
Aprons are available for use.
ABOUT YOUR TUTOR
Maggie Cochran has a Fine Art degree from the University of Chichester and won the Cornwall Life Landscape Painter of the Year 2016. She is fascinated by the tracks and marks left behind as the sea goes out, and how the light reflects off the wet sand. She also enjoys watching the constantly changing sky and sea and bringing a sense of the weather into her paintings.
